We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager to join our team! The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administration, delivery, and support of MCTO projects through development, planning, initiating, executing, and closeout. The Project Manager will assign and supervise staff; and nurture a culture of team building, CPI, and collaborative problem-solving. They will monitor RM and work project quality through quality checks and the RM dashboard and participate in stakeholder engagement sessions; provide progress and status reports; review and approve slide decks. They will generate MSRs showing schedule, risk, quality, and performance measurement metrics, and communicate continuously with MCTO technical representatives, and communicate daily with the Program Manager on progress-to-date, concerns, and project developments.

  • This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the high-level aspects of each department’s work to provide managers with adequate guidance and support
  • Analyze trends, identify opportunities, and develop strategies to meet objectives
  • Make informed decisions promptly, considering each option's potential risks and benefits
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline processes and resource/material use
  • Manage change effectively, including implementing new systems, processes, and strategies
  • Manage and develop the team, including setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and identifying growth opportunities
  • Provide and promote thought leadership to solve team challenges and issues, develop standardized tools/processes, and support innovation
  • Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and project staffing requirements
  • Build relationships with other departments to better understand and identify future project management solutions and business needs
  • Assist Project Managers and Managers in tracking project progress, including early identification of risks and associated mitigation strategies
  • Develop new contract growth strategies for their department
  • Create a collaborative approach in forging pragmatic and creative solutions across various contract issues (with clients and/or partners) in a dynamic environment
  • Provide oversight responsibility for multiple complex projects to ensure profitability and delivery of business solutions against contract
  • Identify new or additional services to benefit the client while increasing account revenue and profitability
  • Manage, mentor, and lead all assigned employees according to HR policies, including proper documentation, timely completion of performance reviews, and goal development
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation within the department
  • Support management-level staff, identify training needs, and ensure proper training is provided
  • Collaborate with other departments to accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Present periodic performance reports and metrics to the Senior Program Director and other leadership, as required
  • Assume ownership and responsibility for assigned actions and/or tasks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing projects
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Previous experience in a leadership role
  • Experience building and maintaining solid stakeholder relationships, including clients and employees
  • Basic understanding of financial management principles and managing budgets effectively
  • Expert in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Able to obtain a minimum of NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) for a Veterans Affairs Public Trust Tier 3 Clearance

  • Strong facilitation skills and experience with client facilitation (staff through leadership level)
  • Consults with others effectively and politely, displaying exemplary interpersonal and diplomacy skills
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, grow, and motivate employees
  • Possesses the ability to synthesize information: gather, organize, and analyze data or information
  • Government contracting experience
  • Ensures timely and successful deliverables and services

Desired Skills:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt 
  • Government contracting experience  
  • DoD and VA experience as a contractor or otherwise  
  • Former military experience
