Senior Cognos Developer (FULLY REMOTE)

Summary

The Cognos Business Intelligence Developer will be a part of the team that is responsible for developing and reporting solutions using Cognos Analytics and other BI tools as necessary. You will deliver high-quality, high-value projects using Cognos Analytics. As an integral member of our delivery team, the Business Intelligence (BI) Report Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) Reports & Dashboards for Infotek Consulting clients. Only candidates with previous Costpoint (5+ years) BI consulting experience and an ownership mentality will be considered.

Requirements

• At least 8-10 years’ Cognos Report & Dashboard Development experience
• At least 8-10 years’ experience with Cognos BI/Analytics Product Suite (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager, Transformer)
• Experience with Framework Manager Dimensional Modeling, Design and Development
• Experience with Cognos Analytics
• Experience with MS SQL Server or Oracle
• Experience Implementing stored procedures and effectively writing advanced SQL queries
• Good understanding of the SDLC processes and practices
• 3+ years’ experience working with Deltek ERP applications, Costpoint and Time & Expense Applications and using the Deltek Cognos CER Framework Models
• Knowledge in designing data warehouse and experience with ETL development, preferably SSIS (MS-SQL server integration services)
• 3+ years consulting experience
• Familiarity with Deltek CAP security is a plus
• Ability to produce results within specified time frames
• Prior consulting experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Watson Analytics a plus
• Productive and organized in a remote work environment

Great to have

• Experience working with Deltek's Costpoint and Time and Expense Applications using the Deltek Cognos CER Framework Model
• Ability to produce results within specified time frames
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge in designing data warehouse and experience with ETL development, preferably SSIS (MS-SQL server integration services)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain reports including creating dashboards, ad-hoc query, and analysis, interactive reporting, enterprise reporting and analytics
• Administer Cognos instances, set up access control, and develop and maintain Cognos data models and frameworks.
• Perform administrative duties including but not limited to logging hours, creating and updating customer documentation using a company-approved data entry system
• Develops and fosters collaborative working relationships with customers
• Provide training to customers and internal team members on CER administration, user and report development
• Obtain training and certifications to further goals of self and the company
• Provide ideas/insights as to new products or services that the company can offer its clients
• Meet (at a minimum) company Service Level Agreements
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Communication with the team either through e-mail, skype or phone-call
• Motivation to seek one’s own projects to further improve the company’s infrastructure
• Leads project endeavors
• Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends, if doing so is necessary
• Job is remote and may require some travel in the future
