POSITION SUMMARY
Support our sales team with identifying strategic solutions to external customer demands/situations. Build and manage relationships with suppliers establishing strategic options to obtain the lowest total cost of ownership. Use performance metrics and sustainable cost improvement processes to ensure key suppliers are servicing the business at the highest level. Create and develop business case summaries and analysis on cost improvement opportunities with suppliers. Uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes with the supply base. Work with our Category Management and Supplier Development managers in determining current and future strategies. Assist in the design of custom kitted solutions and work with kitting teams as a SME on design and solutions expert.

- Drive profits using cost saving strategies and project management skills to effectively lower costs for finished goods, kitting materials, and in-house material spend.
- Solicit strategic bid proposals as directed by the best opportunities for savings (e.g., Programs, Maritime, kitting materials, etc.).
- Identify and negotiate best value costs with suppliers as opportunities develop.
- Implement cost improvement strategies by supplier to achieve cost targets.
- Identify cost savings opportunities and lead operational excellence activities.
- Communicate supplier strategies and present reports to senior management. Communicate and coach Inside Sales on vendor/product strategies, as needed.
- Ensure the supply base operates full compliance with current policies and procedures in the areas of Quality and Product certification; drive through process improvements to meet changing business needs.
- Ensure offered solutions meet contract and U.S. Government compliance. Furthermore, ensure decisions are made with best ethical intentions.
- Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional operations management team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant purchasing/sourcing/inside sales experience. Solid understanding of Purchasing/sourcing/inside sales fundamentals. Government contract experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Intermediate Excel proficiency preferred
- Proficient with ERP; Sales Force and NetSuite preferred
- Ability to leverage technology for continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
