Givens Transportation is seeking a Switcher Coordinator to play a critical role with the yard management and switch coordination for the warehouse for day to day operations as well as assist the transportation dispatch teams with daily tasks of tracking containers and trailer loads for various warehouse and customers. Must be able to multitask in our fast paced dispatch office and be dedicated, flexible and able to work extended hours when necessary.

Essential Functions:

  • Updating Givens’ Yard Management System
  •   Dispatching switch truck drivers to complete warehouse container and trailer moves timely and efficiently.
  •   Extracting container status information from various sources (TMS, emails, yard check, GPS track sites)
  •   Frequent Email Communication:
    1. Providing status updates to customers and warehouse teams
    2. Interact with supervisors or customers to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment
  • Prepare daily schedules for work crew
  • Verifying Yard Check information for accuracy and updating required spreadsheets
  • Assisting dispatch teams and safety teams with TMS operations and driver files

Requirements

  • Typing 50+ WPM
  • Excellent Attention to Detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand English fluently
  • Past experience with Transportation Management Systems and Yard Management Systems is a plus
