Idea Entity, a Microsoft Gold Partner, is a global change management consulting firm committed to delivering customer outcomes that change the way business is done. We are looking for an experienced Technical Training and Development Specialist who will assume a key role on our team.
In this exciting and pivotal role, you will become an integral part of Idea Entity’s Learning and Development Team. You’ll have the opportunity to use a consultative approach to create customized L&D solutions to meet the ongoing growth and performance needs of our team and business.
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of a robust technical training curriculum (e.g., Software Development Fundamentals, Software Engineering Principles, Azure, DevOps, Project Management and Process Implementation, CMMI Best Practices, Cyber, etc.). Learning solutions may include in-person programs, virtual live instructor lead, learning paths and blended programs. As the Technical Training and Development Manager you will work closely with cross-functional teams to align with business and member development priorities, identify learning needs, define learning solution strategy, develop a portfolio of solutions and measure, and ensure overall impact.
This role will be operating on a hybrid schedule with two (2) telework days a week out of our Herndon, VA office.
Requirements
- Collaborating with internal functional leads to define learning objectives and create effective learning strategies that align with organizational priorities.
- Conducting comprehensive needs analysis to identify technical competency gaps and performance improvement opportunities.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts (SME) to understand specific needs to incorporate into program development.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to obtain information, validate content, evaluate the effectiveness of course delivery and ensure the timely and high-quality development and delivery of learning solutions.
- Conducting ongoing assessment and evaluation of learning programs to measure their impact and effectiveness.
- Staying up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in learning design and delivery to enhance member experience and learning outcomes.
- Promoting a culture of learning within the organization, encouraging members to engage in continuous development opportunities.
- Able to travel and perform on-site delivery if needed.

Qualification:
- Strong technical background with experience in software engineering and understanding of Agile methodologies and principles.
- Prior hands-on experience with programming languages, tools, and methodologies.
- Expertise in implementing CMMI Dev/Svc Level 3 or above practices in a small organization and for Agile methodologies.
- Five (5) years of experience leading talent development programs, project management, organizational development, strategic consulting, or similar roles.
- Proven experience working with subject matter experts to identify the target audience’s training needs and co-develop and co-deliver training sessions to improve collaboration, communication, and efficiency across teams.
- Hands-on experience coaching technical and functional teams with knowledge in instructional design and training methodologies.
- Expertise in preparing training materials and user guides for attendees.
- Prior experience in conducting live training using Microsoft Teams, as well as using MS 365 – Teams, Forms, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence a diverse group across a complex matrix, working independently and proactively to drive multiple, shifting priorities with a sense of urgency and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in using data analytics to measure the impact and effectiveness of learning solutions.
- Passion for Learning and Development, and a deep understanding of current trends and innovations in the profession.
- Proven experience managing stakeholders across various business and technical domains with proficiency in preparing executive and management briefings and detailed documentation.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Degree in computer science, business, organizational development, instructional design, education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience within a fast-paced, SaaS, or similar environment, is preferred.
- Association for Talent Development (ATD) membership, Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) preferred.
- Prior experience with implementing CMMI Dev/Svc Level 3 or above practices utilizing Agile methodologies.
- Prior experience with CMMC or ISO/IEC 27001 implementations.
