We are looking for a dynamic Technical Writer/Editor to join our team! The Technical Writer/Editor is responsible for writing, proofreading, summarizing, and content/copy editing various work products, including curricular materials and strategic communication products. The Technical Writer/Editor will meet with stakeholders to discuss objectives, market position, target audiences, and products and services. They will compose and tailor the original copy, and ensure target audiences identify with the desired messaging and that messaging resonates, and brainstorm creative concepts. They will maintain writing and editing proficiency, understand proper grammar and syntax, and responsive communications. The Technical Writer/Editor will coordinate with the Graphic Designer for graphics needs and maintain a reusable and searchable indexed content repository.

- This position is contingent upon award.
Responsibilities:
- Review documents, presentations, and other technical materials for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, content, and style
- Ensure all documents and materials adhere to the client’s style guide requirements
- Ensure all documents and materials align with the target aim and/or goal
- Ensure formatting and instructions are consistent throughout documents and against overall curricular standards
- Ability to maintain industry standard of completing 5-7 pages/hour of tech edits
- Create templates for technical writing that are easy to utilize and adapt by other team members
- Conduct quality review on all printed and digital materials, such as participant guides and marketing collateral
- Identify trends across deliverables to provide feedback to curriculum team members as well as recommended updates to the editorial style guide
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in journalism, English, or another related applicable field
- Minimum three (3) years of experience editing technical and/or curricular materials
- Proven experience as a technical writer and working with a variety of style guides
- Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience accessing and/or editing files through SharePoint
- Able to obtain a minimum of NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) for a Veterans Affairs Public Trust Clearance
