Vice President, Space Operations

Aperio Global is seeking a Vice President of Space Operations to oversee, cultivate, and grow client relationships within the Space Operations sector at Headquarters in Chantilly, VA. Responsibilities will include ensuring Aperio Global delivery teams meet or exceed quality performance standards both required by contracts and from Aperio Global’s Reporting and Tracking Processes. The candidate will also lead major business development and capture pursuits helping to expand Aperio Global’s capabilities within its Space Operations portfolio. This position will report to the Aperio Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) and since it is a critical executive level position, work closely with other Aperio Global VPs and C-level leadership in formulating and executing corporate strategies. This position will be based at Aperio Global Headquarters in Chantilly, VA.

• Manages and is responsible for overseeing Aperio Global Space Operations contracts to ensure the projects achieve the highest possible performance standards in accordance with contractual requirements. This is often measured through CPARS and customer surveys.
• Performs frequent client visits to assess performance, provide overall subject matter expertise associated with the contracts, and seek out ways to provide additional support to the client.
• Assures quality of program products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews and audits.
• Performs overall contract financial oversight to include labor utilization, estimates at completion, revenue, and maintains Profit and Loss responsibility.
• Serves as liaison between client delivery teams and Aperio Global departments such as HR, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Contracts and others.
• Coordinates with prime contractors to ensure accountability to subcontractor agreements and commitments.
• Develops, reviews, and approves plans, schedules, consulting agreements and other program documents.
• Performs business development and capture activities, including the preparation and review of proposals.
• Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews to Aperio Global senior management such as Program Reviews and other forums.
• Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements

• 15+ years of related program management or industry experience with an emphasis on Space Operations/DoD agencies.
• Experience managing client delivery teams.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related business or technical discipline. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred. Master’s Degree is a plus.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Expert communication and writing skills to ensure deliverables are reviewed and submitted within contractual performance standards.
• Strong proficiencies with Microsoft Windows-based tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Adobe Acrobat. Excel expertise is a requirement.
• Expert deal strategy and negotiation skills.
• Superior business etiquette.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
• Must be detail oriented and able to function effectively in a fast paced, multitasking work environment.
• Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities.
• Demonstrated sound judgment, integrity, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders at the highest levels (i.e. senior executives and general officers).
• Ability to mentor and coach junior staff members.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
• Experience and general understanding of logistics, supply, IT/computer science concepts or software development methodologies such as Agile, and DevOps.
• Program Management, Big Data and/or Acquisition experience preferred.
• Proven track record of growing business
• Proven track record of leading winning proposals for Space Operations/Defense contracts.
