Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for an Internal Audit Co-Op in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).
Applicant is responsible for applying classroom-based education to gain hands-on practical experience within field of study. Performs a variety of administrative support activities in areas such as Accounting, Audit Preparation, data analysis and other. Provides business core support and assists in the completion of special projects. Contributes to the development of new ideas and concepts. Maintains training and ensures work is completed in compliance with all applicable procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Applicant understands the job and requires direct instruction on daily work and new assignments. Assignments are usually focused while working within established policies and procedures.
- Researches, compiles data, and prepares reports.
- Communicates verbally and in writing. Refers matters to appropriate staff and/or management for further resolution and follows up as appropriate.
- Maintains professionalism and uses practical knowledge in conducting daily work activities.
- Understands departmental and company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Contacts are typically with individuals within own department and occasionally outside own organization.
- Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring explanation or interpretation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- A U.S. citizen.
- At least 18 years of age.
- An active full-time student during the two semesters/quarters immediately preceding the assignment.
- Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) during their college enrollment.
- Students at Washington State University, Tri-Cities (WSU-TC), Columbia Basin College (CBC), or any online students living local who are enrolled in a degree program in Accounting or Finance.
- Junior/Sophomore status and enrolled full-time, as determined by the institution.
- Willing and able to work 15-40 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 6:30 am-5:00 pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of commonly used computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.

Compensation:
Grade Admin Co-Op Sophomore: $17.70/hr
Grade Admin Co-Op Junior: $19.36/hr
The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. A candidate's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
