Full Job Description
Phoenix Processor LP is looking for a Marine Electrician for work on board the 367’ M/V Excellence. The M/V Excellence is an at sea fish processing vessel which operate in the Bering Sea as well as off the coast of Washington and Oregon.
We are in need of a Marine Electrician to work on a rotation splitting time between working at sea and port work. When the ship in port it is moored at Pier 90 in Seattle. We carry two Electricians and the rotation schedule is every 60-90 days.
While working at sea hours are 12 on and 12 off, 7 days per week. Pay is a guaranteed day rate with bonus opportunity based on production. Day rate is paid twice monthly and bonus 10 days after the end of each fishing season. Rates are negotiated according to experience.
Requirements
- Two Year Associates or Technical Degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of at sea Marine Electrician experience strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of motors and motor controls, industrial logic controls, generators, PLC and PLC programming and switch gear
- Proficient with electrical systems including mechanical shutdowns, navigational communications, internal communications, emergency electrical system and support
- Able to read and interpret drawings, blue prints, schematics and electrical code specifications
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful or hazardous conditions
- Proactive in problem solving
- Quickly and efficiently complete tasks in a safe manner
- Ability to work with or without supervision
- Job requires you to be fit for duty; able to walk, stand, climb, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., reaching, hand/eye coordination and able to work around moving machinery on a moving ship.
- US Coast Guard MMC – QMED with electrical endorsement preferred.
