Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for an Operations Support Specialist in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).
Perform a variety of specialized tasks, working independently while greeting all visitors and project personnel at the front desk of the 222-S Laboratory. Responsible for providing administrative support to Shift Operations Management on various processes and tasks related to Operations, including but not limited to, conducting document reviews of surveillances and dispositioning comments, developing summaries and metrics to support continued improvements, supporting all phases of Issues Management (Action Requests, Condition Reports, Corrective Actions), and supporting the administration of shift related overtime authorizations. Supports in event investigation activities and company safety council activities. Investigates, analyzes, and determines the solutions to problems and/or adverse trends. Supports revising procedures and updates organization’s SharePoint site.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the point of contact by receiving, screening, and providing assistance to 222-S Laboratory visitors, provide a safety briefing of hazards and points of contact when necessary.
- Work with the SOM as the 222-S Complex Key Custodian program by providing keys, Omni & Proxy access, documentation, assessments, and KOLTS database updates.
- Support site/department programs and groups, ensuring proper tracking, posting, completion, timeliness of responses and electronic maintenance, including but not limited to: Operator Aids, Standing Orders, Conduct of Operations Matrix, Employee Accident Prevention Council, Voluntary Protection Program, and Overtime Administration for Craft.
- Provide information and handle issues that may require sensitivity and the use of sound judgment.
- Participate in causal analysis and root cause analysis, as needed. Participate in Action Tracking administrative support.
- Maintain training program files, materials, tracking of qualification card completion, required training and attendance.
- Control visitor process and logbook.
- Perform various support functions; program compliance, planning and scheduling, developing training\vacation calendars, and other functions for the Facility Operations Department.
- Understand implications of work and make recommendations for solutions.
- Refer matters to appropriate staff and/or management for further resolution and follow up as appropriate.
- Understand departmental and company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Act as an accountability aid and/or an ICP Scribe for emergency preparedness.
- Maintain confidentiality and use tact, diplomacy, and practical knowledge in conducting daily work activities.
- Act as Records liaison, and maintain and update documents; proofing, scanning, filing and sending to the Records department.
- Provide suggestions for, and assist in, implementing process improvements.
- Compile data and prepare weekly resource availability reports to different departments.
- Review daily report packets, obtain corrections, and send to records.
- Maintain Vehicle Utilization program, keeping Monthly Logs, scheduling maintenance, verifying vehicles stay fueled, planning vehicle washing, and managers Key distribution to staff.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field (Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or other project related discipline), and 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, software.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)
Grade 14: $71,200 - $89,800
In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. A candidate's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
