POSITION SUMMARY
This role will support the conception and maturation of a variety of quantum products, including the development and testing of specialized processes: glass substrate processing, glass and dissimilar material bonding, silicon wafer processing and testing, thin film characterization, laser processing and electrical integration. The materials engineer’s role will include a combination of self-directed and collaborative efforts with a team of physicists, engineers, technicians, and business personnel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with physicists and optical, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to define mechanical and electrical system requirements
- Assemble and test electronic and mechanical components for integration into complex and larger systems
- Produce engineering documentation, including technical drawings, mechanical assembly packages, work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Support root cause analysis or failure mode investigations
- Other duties or projects as assigned
Salary Range: $78,200 to $98,000
Anticipated Start Date: 1st Week of July

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering physics, or similar
· At least two (2) years of experience in an industry or academic environment working on component design, component development and testing
· Ability to troubleshoot and debug circuit boards in laboratory environment and proper use of lab equipment
· Experience with reading and creating mechanical drawings
· Good collaboration skills, able to work in a team environment where engagement and participation are an expected part of successful job performance
· A plus if experienced in power electronics or RF, mixed-signal PCB layout, OrCAD schematic capture and PCB layout
