Full Job Description
Our client, a leading company within the manufacturing and distribution industry, is actively seeking an experienced Associate Legal Director to join their legal team. This role involves working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted business environment that includes warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, and licensing operations.
Key Duties:
- Prepare, negotiate, and review a diverse range of contracts, focusing on distribution, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
- Administer and negotiate licensing agreements.
- Provide counsel on corporate governance, compliance issues, and risk management strategies.
- Manage warehouse and facility lease agreements.
- Assist in employment law matters, particularly California employment law, including employee terminations.
- Support negotiations in bank financing deals, interpreting financial agreements and loan documents.
- Maintain awareness of legislative changes affecting the business.
- Work closely with external legal advisors when required.
- Review contracts associated with international product procurement and sales.
Requirements
Active bar membership in good standing.
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
Strong expertise in contract and lease agreement law.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industries is preferred.
Knowledgeable about licensing and intellectual property law.
Familiarity with labor laws of California is an asset.
Exceptional written and verbal communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a high-speed business environment.
