CARFAIR – FACILITIES ENGINEER (LIMITED TERM)
Carfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA).
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Engineer supports all facility engineering activities and analysis related to the requirements of the Carfair Facility Council. Provide detailed analysis and recommendations related to strategic capital investments, make/buy decisions and major facility projects. Implement related changes and improvements to maximize the benefit to the Company and its shareholders and employees.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
1. Support all aspects of Facility Council initiatives including performing analysis, costing forecasts, project management and presentation preparation.
2. Ensure robust make/buy decision-making analysis is used to maximize the appropriate use of company facilities and equipment.
3. Participate in special make/buy projects and analysis as required.
4. Ensure accurate CAD layouts for all company facilities are maintained as requested.
5. Manage facility improvement projects or improvements as assigned.
6. Work effectively as a team member to ensure goals are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued.
7. Maintain the current facility project log for assigned projects to maximize communication and prioritization of tasks.
8. Specify and facilitate capital and equipment upgrades, installations or modifications.
9. Implement and facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives as they relate to the facilities as assigned (5S, value stream mapping, set-up reduction etc.)
10. Promote an environment of continuous improvement and team work.
11. Support and interact with the bids group and manufacturing engineering as required.
12. Remain current with relevant industry and production technologies in order to advance the manufacturing processes within the facility.
13. Manages the maintenance function (property and equipment) for Carfair facilities
14. Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Engineering degree/diploma and/or related courses & work experience
- Lean certification or applicable equivalent work experience.
- Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience working as an effective team player
- Computer, mobile phone, and other equipment related to essential functions
- MS Office, conducting presentations, plant tours, CAD software
