We have an opening for a Sales Manager-Retail at our Port Washington, WI location.

This position will work on-site at our corporate office when not traveling. 15-20% travel is required.

 

The Sales Manager-Retail will represent Kleen Test Products by promoting our home cleaning, personal care and laundry products to food/drug/mass retailers, medical distributors and other potential purchasers. This person will meet with existing customers to maintain ongoing business and search for potential new customers.  The goal of this position is to achieve as much sales volume as possible at a profitable margin while continuously meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Essential Functions

  • Act as primary point of contact with current customers to grow business and ensure that KTP meets or exceeds customer satisfaction. 
  • Function as Site Administrator for customer IT systems that must be accessed by KTP team, which includes troubleshooting system/process issues that arise within KTP team.
  • Work closely with Project Managers on new product launches to resolve issues and ensure a successful launch.
  • Develop relationships with potential customers, introducing products offered by KTP as well as searching for new products to grow our business.
  • Accountable for gathering information on competitors (i.e.; capabilities and/or any changes); conduct a competitive analysis on findings.
  • Attend trade shows and observe the market for any new products being offered from domestic or foreign suppliers.  This would also include any new formulas, fabric or other materials that would relate to our retail product lines.
  • Work with Technical Services to identify new innovative materials or products that could enhance and/or strengthen KTP’s relationship with customers.
  • Review the pricing structure of our products and be aware of market factors that could affect material costs and product pricing.
  • Maintain and promote strong work ethics and uphold all KTP policies and procedures.
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license, as travel will be required to complete the essential functions listed above.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, with a focus on business.
  • Must have prior sales experience selling direct to retailers.
  • Strong knowledge of the consumer products marketplace including retailers, products, formulas and regulations.
  • Ability to understand market trends as well as experience in new customer development.
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license, as travel will be required to complete the essential functions listed above.
  • Requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret business information, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to write reports and findings and present to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent customer relationship management experience and a strong ability to solve complex problems effectively to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
  • Strong mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as the ability to apply such concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point) and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with information.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills along with ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining composure and respect for everyone.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge in all aspects of retail sales by continuously learning and applying best practices to the organization.
