LAC Federal is seeking a Digitization Technician to support a project digitizing braille music score titles to 1) fulfill a goal of the Library’s digital strategy, 2) to ensure preservation of the scores, and 3) to better serve patrons. The Digitization Technician will use specially designed braille scanners (DotScan scanners) that function similarly to regular flatbed scanners as they create images with an overlying grid of the scanned dots, and then convert these images automatically into digital braille files. The Technician would learn to use the machine via on-site training by staff.
