To provide therapeutic treatment services to patients, provide complete psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, individual, family, group counseling, and timely and appropriate discharge planning/case management based on known or anticipated needs. Participate actively in patient care, treatment in a multi-disciplinary treatment setting with early adult to late adult age patients. Treatment planning and treatment resulting in interventions to alleviate psychiatric symptoms and functional impairment.

Currently Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is recruiting for a Per Diem Outpatient Adolescent Therapist for After School Program, Monday through Thursday 3pm - 8pm, no weekends .The Outpatient Therapist will report directly to the Director of Outpatient Services.

The Outpatient department affects the treatment provided to our patients in an outpatient setting. The Outpatient Therapist, will be responsible for clinical treatment for patients receiving treatment for psychiatric, and substance abuse issues.

POSITION PURPOSE

Under general supervision of the Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for performance of all technical procedures related to the scope of service for the Cardiopulmonary Services Department. Adheres to required policies affecting clinical care and the organization’s operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Administers therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to: aerosol therapy, intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB), oxygen therapy, postural drainage and percussion, incentive spirometry, adult and pediatric mechanical ventilation, tracheal suction, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Competent in the performance of EKGs.
• Competent in the performance of EEGs.
• Performs other testing procedures to include Holter monitoring, EKG stress testing, and pulmonary functions.

The recreational therapist serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, to provide therapeutic recreational and activity services to adult and adolescent patients under HBHH care for emotional or substance abuse problems.

Requirements

Education:
