Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant with experience in Orthopedics to join our team at Royalty Medical Solutions. As a Medical Assistant in the Orthopedics department, you will play a crucial role in assisting our healthcare providers in providing exceptional orthopedic care to our patients. You will be responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the department and delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
Clinical:
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment
- Escort patients to examination rooms and assist with patient assessments and procedures
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
- Assist healthcare providers with orthopedic procedures and treatments
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Apply and remove casts and splints as directed by the healthcare provider
- Ensure proper documentation and coding of orthopedic procedures and treatments
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or facilities as needed
Administrative:
- Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits
- Manage medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
- Handle phone calls, inquiries, and requests from patients and their families
- Assist with billing and coding tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and insurance requirements
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program
- Medical Assistant certification is preferred
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in an orthopedic setting
- Strong knowledge of orthopedic procedures, treatments, and anatomy
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages
- Knowledge of medical billing and coding processes

Requirements
