Full Job Description
The EDGE Urban Church is seeking a Worship Arts Director to join our team with a passion to lead others in the worship of God. The Worship Arts Director will play a key role in leading and cultivating a culture of worship through Christian Hip-Hop and R&B. This individual will collaborate with the Lead Pastor to enhance and support the messages through relevant music selection, stage decoration, and other creative expression.
What you will do:
Plan and coordinate weekly Spirit-led worship services using multiple mediums and hip-hop elements
Lead and oversee all worship experiences
Recruit, train, develop, and coach worship volunteers
Form worship teams that will serve on a rotational basis
Provide direction and leadership to worship teams for rehearsals
Provide leadership to recording studio and tech team leader
Foster an atmosphere of creativity and spiritual growth within the worship arts ministry
Requirements
We are looking for someone who gravitates towards multi-cultural relationships, is a team builder, and has a strong familiarity with urban communities. Beyond this, we are looking for someone who:
Has a strong understanding of and appreciation for hip-hop culture
Has experience using technology in worship such as lights, worship software, sound
systems, video projection, etc.
Has 2 or more years of experience facilitating a spiritual atmosphere that fosters a
connection between God and His people
Is skilled in leading a band: instrumentalists, rappers, and singers
