You would have a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team of HR professionals as a leader. Contribute to team's success by supervising HR professionals and provide HR support, counseling and advice to our leadership and employees. You would support leaders and employees, from employee relations to FMLA and ADA administration to HR training and employee education sessions. Our HR team strives for the best service and advice we can give, and you would be a crucial part in our success. With the size of the company (~500 employees), working at ROC means that you can directly see the impact of your contributions and you have a voice.

Note: This position will be on-site (remote work unavailable), and will remain posted until filled.

What would you do as an HR Manager?

The HR Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and leading Human Resources staff to meet departmental and organizational goals, as well as assisting other departments in their human resources needs.

Overall

  • Develop strategies, goals, vision, and objectives for Human Resources department in line with organizational objectives;
  • Assess and evaluate department’s overall function and operations and execute changes continually (process, procedure, etc.) to maximize effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Monitor, analyze and report on annual budget and operational performance;
  • Supervise and lead direct reports by motivating, inspiring, and supporting staff to a higher level of engagement, productivity, and quality outcomes;
  • Conduct performance reviews, review work and provide educational and development opportunities for direct reports;
  • Assist with employee situations that are escalated as needed;
  • Develop and maintain effective communication within the organization;
  • Collaborate with executives, directors, managers and other staff within the organization;
  • Assist with process improvement and collaborate with department leaders to initiate change organization-wide;
  • Be a champion and a positive change agent for the organization’s mission, vision, guiding principles and initiatives. 

Human Resource Management

  • Oversee and implement human resource operations, including talent acquisition and staffing, total rewards (compensation and benefits), employee relations (performance management and investigations), labor relations, compliance with AA/EEO, employee engagement, retention, recognition, workforce development (training and external partnerships) and HR systems and processes;
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters;
  • Identify and research human resources issues and contribute information, analysis and recommendations to the organization based on industry trends and legislation;
  • Review and make recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters;
  • Consult with CEO and legal counsel as appropriate on personnel matters;
  • Work directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on employee matters.

Requirements

We are looking for an HR professional that has experience in a similar setting, in a role that included varied HR-related functions.

Certifications/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field OR equivalent experience in similar role and High School Diploma/GED;

Knowledge of:

  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state and local legislation, regulations and guidelines related to personnel matters;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resource Information;

Experience:

  • Leading and supervising groups, including team building and fostering engagement;
  • Performing human resources duties independently;
  • Communicating effectively with all levels of employees (professional staff, managerial staff, front line staff, etc.) to resolve issues and concerns;
  • Managing and developing budgets, including financial reporting.

How can you set yourself apart? (not required)

  • Master’s Degree in a related field.
