SEASONAL - Cabana Server

About the Role

The Cabana Server is responsible for greeting and offering food and beverage to all guests at Cabanas and chairs.

Position Responsibilities

• Offers menus, makes recommendations and performs suggestive selling.
• Conversant and knowledgeable of all food and beverage products and services.
• Takes food orders from guests and enters orders into the POS system, which relays the orders to the food preparation area and the bar.
• Upsells food and beverage menu items.
• Delivers food and beverage to guests in a timely manner.
• Performs side work at the start and end of each shift and maintains clean service area.
• Monitors and observes guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food, beverage and service.
• Responds promptly and courteously to any requests.
• Adheres to responsible alcohol service guidelines.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to stand, sit, bend and twist for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the casino/hotel areas
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and hectic environments
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends and flexible shift hours

Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate in English
• Prior wine knowledge is preferred but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred
• Must have a minimum of six months’ experience as a server in a high volume and/or fine dining environment.
• Ability to work in a high pressure environment
