Field Service Engineer

Job Overview:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will act as a Customer Solutions Advocate, responsible for evaluating existing customer equipment and providing innovative solutions to technical issues. Your role includes recommending equipment, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems reported by customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • On-Site Visits: Conduct field visits to gather data, collaborate with customers on potential solutions, and oversee equipment installations.
  • Technical Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer-reported technical issues with thorough analysis and effective solutions.
  • Customer Collaboration: Maintain clear communication and timely reporting to ensure high-quality service.
  • Equipment Compliance: Ensure all new or modified installations meet industry standards, company guidelines, and customer requirements.
  • Performance Review: Review performance reports and inspect malfunctioning equipment to identify issues.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Analyze inspection reports to determine root causes and recommend repairs, replacements, upgrades, or corrective actions.
  • Problem Resolution Coordination: Work with Field Service, Engineering, and other departments to expedite service.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed records and submit reports to the Field Service Supervisor.
  • Recommendations: Provide feedback to the Field Service Supervisor about recurring equipment issues for corrective action.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate regular attendance, punctuality, and flexibility, working on-site and overtime as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues, customers, vendors, and management, displaying professionalism and respect.
  • Multitasking: Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and contribute positively to department operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (minimum three years) in a related field.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
