Full Job Description
UWorld is seeking a forward thinking and motivated HR Business Partner to help us create and
administer programs to improve employee experience and ensure compliance for the company. The
HRBP will have an understanding of and hands-on exposure to the full mix of Human Resources
functions. The ideal candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, be detail-
oriented with strong follow-through on tasks and projects, have experience collecting, analyzing and using
data to improve processes and meet compliance goals, and demonstrate exceptional written and verbal
communication skills.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Recommend and implement new approaches, systems, practices, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Advise managers on HR policies and procedures and ensure administration is fair and consistent.
- Lead and assist with HR projects, including HRIS improvements, compensation benchmarking, performance management approaches, and learning & development.
- Process separations, conduct exit interviews, and analyze attrition trends.
- Provide coaching and counseling support to managers and employees regarding employee
relations, performance management, and career development.
- Support mergers and acquisitions with analysis, change management guidance, and
management of HR-related integration tasks.
- Support onboarding of new employees to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Monitor employee morale, company culture, and keep management informed of trends.
- Monitor employee eligibility for benefit plans and communicate benefit plan information to
employees.
- Support the annual open enrollment process, work with brokers and vendors as needed and verify benefit eligibility and enrollment.
- Ensure that leave programs (FMLA, STD, LTD, etc.) are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with accounting teams to ensure relevant employee information is
consistently updated and issues resolved/communicated to support timely payroll and other
financial activities.
- Support and help coordinate compensation planning processes and merit cycles.
- Develop cohesion between client groups and promote teamwork and UWorld culture.
- Participate in team meetings and take responsibility for process improvement initiatives and other assigned action items.
- Work closely with recruitment on team building and employee experience initiatives.
- Assist other team members during peak periods to ensure that all deadlines are met.
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other assignments or duties as needed or requested by management.
Job Qualifications
- Four plus years of proven work experience with Human Resources, preferably as an HRBP or Generalist.
- Knowledge of government regulations, professional “best practices” and industry trends as they apply to all HR related functions and responsibilities.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, CCB, or other HR-specific certification a plus.
- Excellent computer and technical skills, knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Project management skills including setting goals, timelines and scope, managing communications, and influencing stakeholders to drive projects to completion.
- Ability to build collaborative, high-trust peer relations across the organization.
- Ability to prioritize, create and maintain organized systems and documents.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Self-motivated and action-oriented with a focus on accuracy and delivery of a high-quality work product.
- Previous work experience with mergers and acquisitions preferred.
- Working knowledge of California employment laws preferred.
- Experience with immigration laws and processes as plus.
